Komodo's lite wallet uses a seed/passphrase to generate your privatekeys on the fly. This option doesn't require you to download the entire blockchain. However, you don't store any blockchain data locally. In contrast, native wallets usually have an entire copy of the blockchain and are considered "full" nodes. Native wallets store your privatekeys in the wallet.dat file. The difference in how both systems generate and store privatekeys means you will see different addresses if you entere lite mode vs native.
Cool Fact! Users can import the lite mode seed into a native wallet and successfully import the privatekey into the wallet.dat. After the wallet rescans you will see the balance related to the seed you imported. Here is a guide on how to do this.
